ACTIVITIES IN RAMADHAN MONTH


1.Ruwahan derived from the word "Ruwah" is the seventh month of the year Hijriyyah. Ruwah word itself has a root word "spirit", or spirits of the ancestors and forefathers. It is said of the meaning of the word spirit is used as a month to month in memory of the ancestors. Ruwahan conducted in mid-Sha'ban so frequently referred to as  Nisfu Ramadhan. In the mid-week last week Ramadhan implement community charity events accompanied selametan small bulk (kenduren) in the evening by preparing food, to eat together either by family or by the surrounding neighbors.



2.Nyadran  itself comes from the word "sradha",
Nyadran is a pilgrimage to the grave to remind people of its origin that is the ancestors. Nyadran starting with membersihkah tomb and the surrounding areas of weeds and trash and read yasin tahlil and pray to God that those who have gone always get blessings from Allah SWT. In the event nyadran, various flowers sprinkled on the graves of those they loved, therefore nyadran also called nyekar (sekar = flower). The beauty and fragrance of flowers became a symbol to always remember all the beautiful and the good of those who have gone before.


3. Thetek is a tradition of vibrant rural communities living on the moon during Ramadan. Thetek echoed in different rhythms of traditional musical instrument that is sounded in a way most beaten. Thetek kentongan dominated by musical instruments in various shapes and sizes. The device is made depending on personnel needs and the type of hitter the desired sounds, ranging from the lowest note to highest note. The shape is similar to the angklung. And sometimes thetek also often contests



4.Mudik is the activity of migrants/migrant workers to return to his hometown. Mudik in Indonesia  is identical with an annual tradition that occurs ahead of major religious holidays such as before Lebaran. At that point there is an opportunity to gather with relatives scattered in the overseas, but of course also sowan with parents. Mudik tradition only exists in Indonesia
